Research profile and key clinical specialties
We develop liquid biopsies (based on circulating tumour DNA and circulating tumour cells) to detect lung cancers earlier, to subtype disease, to monitor response to therapies, and to detect tumour recurrence earlier after curative intent therapies.
Two key publications
- Chemi F et al (2019). Pulmonary venous circulating tumour cell dissemination prior to tumour resection are associated with relapse. Nature Medicine, 25(10):1534-1539.
- Carter L et al (2017) Molecular analysis of circulating tumor cells identifies distinct copy-number profiles in patients with chemosensitive and chemorefractory small-cell lung cancer. Nature Medicine, 23:114-119
Possible PhD projects
- Development of a multi-modal blood test for early detection of Non Small Cell Lung Cancer.
- Methylated ctDNA to predict response to chemotherapy in small cell lung cancer.
