Research profile and key clinical specialties
My current roles include NIHR Senior Investigator, Yorkshire and Humber CRN MSK speciality Lead, NIHR Mentor, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, and Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery.
I am Deputy Director Designate Leeds BRC (2022) and 4ward North director (one of 8). I am also a member of the NJR research committee and a panel member on the NIHR committees.
Key clinical specialities include elective orthopaedics, osteoarthritis, joint replacement and cartilage regeneration techniques, and peri-prosthetic fractures.

I currently supervise 9 PhD students (5 as principal and 4 as co-supervisor) with 12 successful PhDs previously.
My multidisciplinary team includes engineers, statisticians, early and mid-career researchers, methodologists and trial support staff.
